Fridges for sale

New fridges from £199, delivered and installed across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire — with your old one taken away and recycled.

We supply larder fridges, undercounter fridges, integrated column fridges and tall freestanding models from Bosch, Neff, Siemens, Beko, Hotpoint, Indesit, Liebherr, Samsung, LG, AEG and Zanussi. A fridge is the one appliance that runs 24 hours a day for a decade or more, so energy rating and build quality matter more here than in almost any other category — the difference between an E-rated and a B-rated fridge over a twelve-year life is a substantial sum of money, not a rounding error. We deliver and install with our own engineers across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. That includes positioning the appliance with correct ventilation clearance, levelling it with a slight rearward tilt so the doors self-close and the drain runs properly, reversing the door hinges if you need them the other way, transferring or fitting the decor door on integrated models, and — importantly — letting the appliance stand upright for the manufacturer's recommended settling period before switching it on if it has been transported on its side. We'll set the thermostat and check the temperature with a calibrated thermometer before we leave. Your old fridge is removed for WEEE recycling, which for refrigeration involves specialist handling of the refrigerant and insulation gases, at no extra cost.

Before you buy: is repairing cheaper?

Fridges are worth repairing more often than people assume, because the common failures are cheap parts rather than the compressor. A larder fridge costs £220–£450 new and an integrated column fridge £500–£900 once fitting and door transfer are counted, so applying the 50% rule leaves plenty of room for a £90 call-out plus the part. Start relays, thermostats, evaporator fans, door switches and door seals are all economically sound fixes on an appliance up to twelve years old. Typical lifespan is 10 to 14 years for mid-range models and 15 to 20 for Liebherr, Miele and similar. The clear replace decision is a sealed-system failure — a seized compressor or a refrigerant leak. Locating and properly repairing a leak in a domestic fridge's sealed system costs more than most fridges are worth, and topping up without fixing the leak is neither legal nor durable, so we won't offer it. Environmentally, refrigeration is the one category where in-use energy matters as much as manufacturing, because the appliance runs continuously. A fifteen-year-old fridge with a failed seal can use two to three times the electricity of a modern one. But a well-sealed, correctly serviced older fridge is close enough to modern efficiency that repair remains the better choice — and we'll tell you honestly which of those two situations yours is in.

Buying guide

How to choose the right fridge

Larder versus undercounter capacity

A tall larder fridge gives 240–380 litres and is the right choice for any household of two or more. Undercounter models offer 100–150 litres and suit flats, offices and second fridges. Look at usable litres and shelf layout rather than external height, since door bin design changes practical capacity considerably.

Energy rating matters more here than anywhere

A fridge runs continuously for 10 to 14 years, so the energy label translates directly into money. Under the 2021 scale, a C or D rated larder fridge is respectable and a B is very good. The difference between an E and a B over a twelve-year life is typically £250–£400 in electricity — often more than the price gap between the two appliances.

Static or fan-assisted cooling

Static cooling is simpler, quieter and cheaper, with a cold plate at the rear that frosts and self-defrosts. Fan-assisted cooling gives a more even temperature top to bottom and recovers faster after the door has been open, which matters in a busy family kitchen. Fan models are marginally noisier and slightly more to repair.

Climate class and where the fridge will live

Check the climate class — SN, N, ST or T — against where the appliance will stand. An N-rated fridge is specified for 16–32°C ambient and will struggle in an unheated garage in winter or a hot conservatory in summer. If it's going in a garage or outbuilding, you specifically need an SN or a garage-rated model.

Integrated versus freestanding

Integrated column fridges fit a standard 1,772mm or 1,225mm tall housing and hide behind a decor door, using either a fixed or sliding hinge system. They cost more, have slightly lower internal capacity for the same footprint, and depend on the housing having proper ventilation. Freestanding is cheaper, more efficient and easier to service.

Noise level for open-plan living

A fridge in an open-plan kitchen-diner is audible in the evenings. Anything at 38dB or below is genuinely quiet, 40–42dB is normal, and 45dB and above becomes noticeable. Compressor type matters too — inverter compressors run more of the time at lower speed and are less obtrusive than an on-off compressor cycling.

Shelving, drawers and door bins

Look for toughened glass shelves rather than wire, at least one humidity-controlled crisper drawer, and a door bin deep enough for two-litre bottles. Adjustable or split shelving genuinely improves usable space. These practical details affect daily use far more than a headline feature list does.

Hinge side and door reversal

Check which way the door needs to open in your kitchen before ordering, and whether the model has reversible hinges. Most freestanding fridges do, and we reverse them as part of installation at no charge. Getting this wrong means a door that blocks the walkway or fouls an adjacent unit.

Questions
Do you install the new fridge and take the old one away?

Yes, both included. We position and level the appliance with correct ventilation clearance, reverse the door hinges if needed, fit the decor door on integrated models and check the running temperature before we leave. The old fridge goes for specialist WEEE refrigerant recovery at no extra charge.

How long should I leave a new fridge before switching it on?

If it has been transported upright, four hours is usually enough; if it has travelled on its side, leave it standing for at least 12 hours. This lets the compressor oil drain back out of the refrigerant lines. Switching on too soon is a genuine way to damage a brand new compressor, so we advise on this at delivery.

Can I put a fridge in my garage?

Only if it's rated for it. Standard N-class fridges are specified for 16–32°C ambient and will stop cooling reliably in an unheated Cambridgeshire garage in winter, because the thermostat never calls for the compressor. Look for an SN climate class or a specifically garage-rated model, which we can supply.

Will you reverse the door for me?

Yes, at no charge, on any model with reversible hinges — which is most freestanding fridges. Tell us which side you need when you order so we bring the right tools and any handed parts. Integrated fridges are set up for the correct hinge side as part of the decor door fitting.

How quickly can you deliver?

Stocked models are usually delivered and installed within two to three working days across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, with a timed slot. If your existing fridge has failed completely, tell us — we'll prioritise the delivery because of the food safety angle.

Do your fridges come with a guarantee?

Yes, 6 months on parts and labour. Every fridge is fully tested over a run-down and pull-down cycle with calibrated thermometers, has its seals, drain and condenser checked and any worn parts replaced, and is deep-cleaned before sale.
