Beko appliance repair
A brand we specialise in
Worth repairing for the first five or six years, where common faults cost far less than replacement. Beyond that, weigh the £90 call-out plus the part against the price of a new machine — for a basic model it is often close, and a sealed-tub bearing failure is generally the end of the road.

documented
Beko sells more washing machines in the UK than almost anyone, and since Arçelik took over Whirlpool's European business the group now sits behind Hotpoint and Indesit as well. Beko's own machines are straightforward and inexpensive, with a simple layout that makes them quick to diagnose. Recent models are noticeably better made than the ones from a decade ago, and the refrigeration in particular is decent for the money.
What lets them down is the detail. Drain pumps and filters block easily, door interlocks are a recurring wear item, and heating elements have a shorter life than the German brands in hard water. Frost-free fridge freezers ice up when the defrost heater or sensor fails, which is a common and repairable fault. Parts are cheap and widely available, so most repairs are economically sensible for the first five or six years. Beyond that the sums get harder, because a new entry-level Beko is not expensive. We give a straight answer on that rather than talking anyone into a repair that does not make sense.
Parts and availability
Beko parts are cheap and very widely stocked, with pumps, interlocks and elements commonly £15–£35 and next-day delivery from several UK suppliers. Main boards are £80–£150 and occasionally need configuring to the model.

What goes wrong with Beko appliances
E03 drain fault
The machine cannot empty within the expected time and stops with water in the drum. Beko pump filters are prone to catching coins, hair grips and lint, and the filter housing itself silts up. Where the filter is clean, the pump impeller has usually jammed or the pump has failed.
E01 door lock faults
The interlock does not confirm the door is locked, so the machine will not start, or it will not release the door at the end of the cycle. It is one of the most common Beko repairs we do and the part is inexpensive; a worn door hook or hinge often contributes.
Heating element failure and RCD tripping
In hard water the element scales and eventually fails, either stopping the machine heating altogether or leaking to earth and tripping the consumer unit. A machine that trips the electrics the moment the wash starts heating is the classic sign, and the element is a quick, low-cost change.
Frost-free fridge freezers icing up
A failed defrost heater, defrost sensor or thermal fuse lets ice build on the evaporator behind the rear freezer panel, blocking airflow so the fridge section warms while the freezer stays cold. Manually defrosting fixes it for a few weeks only; the failed defrost component needs replacing.
Bearing noise on high-spin models
1400 and 1600rpm Beko machines can develop bearing rumble from about six years, especially where the machine has been run overloaded. Some models are split-tub and repairable, others are sealed and are not — the model number determines whether the repair is worth doing.
Condenser dryer sensor and airflow faults
Sensor-drying models stop sensing correctly when the moisture sensor bars scale over with detergent residue and softener, so cycles either end early with damp washing or run far too long. Cleaning the sensor bars and the secondary filter resolves a good proportion of these calls.
