Neff is BSH's built-in kitchen brand, and in the new-build estates around Cambourne, Northstowe and St Neots it is everywhere. Mechanically it shares platforms with Bosch and Siemens, so the underlying engineering is the same — the differences are the Slide&Hide door, CircoTherm fan system and a more designer-led control layout. Reliability is good, and because the parts are shared with Bosch, availability is excellent. What we see most is not catastrophic failure but wear on the features that make Neff distinctive. Slide&Hide hinges and the door retraction mechanism take a beating, particularly in family kitchens where the door gets leaned on. Touch modules fail from steam ingress. Dishwashers throw the same E15, E24 and E22 codes as their Bosch cousins. The good news for owners is that these are almost all fixed parts with published prices and no diagnostic guesswork. Integrated appliances do take longer to remove and refit than freestanding ones, though the labour sits inside our £90 call-out either way, so it is the part that decides the bill. As a rule, Neff is worth repairing — a like-for-like replacement built-in oven plus fitting rarely comes in under £700.

What goes wrong with Neff appliances
Slide&Hide door hinge and retraction faults
The mechanism that rolls the door away under the cavity wears at the hinge pivots and the runner, so the door drops, catches, or will not retract fully. Heat cycling and the weight of the triple-glazed door accelerate it. Hinges are replaced in pairs and the door glass usually needs resetting at the same time.
CircoTherm fan oven not reaching temperature
A weak or failed circular element behind the back panel, or a fan motor with dry bearings, leaves the oven heating slowly and browning unevenly. Owners often blame the thermostat first. The tell-tale is a fan that has become noticeably noisier over the preceding months before the heat drops off.
E15 water in the base on dishwashers
As with Bosch and Siemens, the base-tray float trips and the machine locks into a continuous drain. The leak is normally from the sump seal, a split spray arm feed or the heat pump. The code will not clear until the tray is dried and the actual leak is sealed.
Touch control panels becoming unresponsive
Steam and grease get behind the glass on ovens and induction hobs, corroding the ribbon tail or the sensor pads. Symptoms range from one dead button to the whole panel locking out or ghost-pressing itself. It is a module replacement, not a clean.
Cooling fan running on for long periods after use
Pyrolytic and multifunction ovens run the tangential cooling fan after cooking, but a failing thermostat or blocked vent path makes it run for an hour or more. Usually it is a lint- and grease-blocked vent above the door or a failing cooling fan, not the board.
