Transparent pricing

What we charge, in public

Not one of our local competitors publishes a single price. Two of them claim "transparent pricing" while showing no numbers at all. Here are ours.

6Months guarantee

included
Same dayCall-outs available
7 days a week

Three numbers, all of them on this page. What you pay depends on the appliance and nothing else — not how long the job takes, not the day of the week, not how awkward the access is.

The call-out is the labour. There is no hourly rate on top of it and no separate diagnosis fee, so the only thing left to agree is the part — and you get that price before anything is fitted.

Standard charges

ServicePrice
Call-out, diagnosis and labour — standard appliance
Washing machines, tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers, ovens, hobs, 60cm cookers, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers. One charge covering the visit, a full diagnosis and all the labour, however long the job takes.
£90
Integrated appliances
£10 on top of the standard call-out. An integrated machine has to come out of the run of units before anything can be diagnosed, and go back in afterwards. Integrated ovens are the exception and stay at £90.
£100
Cooker hoods, range cookers and American fridge freezers
Hoods mean working at height with the ducting apart. Range cookers and American fridge freezers are large and heavy enough that they usually take two people to move safely.
£110
Tumble dryer deep clean
Machine stripped down and the lint cleared out of the ducting, fan and condenser — the places the filter never reaches. Reduces fire risk and stops the machine running hot and long. Worth doing once a year.
£35 with a visit, £60 on its own
Parts
Charged on top of the call-out. You get the price before anything goes in and you decide. Genuine manufacturer parts where they are available and sensibly priced, quality equivalents where they are not.
Quoted for approval before fitting
Return visit to fit an ordered part
If a part has to be ordered in, coming back to fit it is included. You are never charged twice for one repair.
No further call-out charge
Appliance beyond economical repair
If we cannot fix it, or fixing it makes no sense, you pay the call-out and nothing else, along with a plain explanation and an honest steer on what to do next.
£90 only
Out-of-hours, evening or weekend emergency
Priced and agreed on the phone before we travel, so you decide with the figure in front of you. Standard weekday visits are the £90.
Quoted before we set off
Guarantee
Covers the part we fitted and the work of fitting it. If it fails or the original fault returns within six months, we come back at no charge.
6 months parts and labour
Appliance installation (freestanding)
Connection to existing services, levelling and a test cycle. Integrated installation and any new plumbing or electrical work are priced separately.
Quoted before booking
Old appliance removal and WEEE recycling
Responsible recycling through the correct route. Fridges, freezers and anything containing refrigerant gas need specialist handling.
Quoted before booking
Landlord and letting agent accounts
The same flat charge at every property, with consolidated invoicing itemised by address, tenant liaison and priority scheduling. Domestic appliances only; we do not work on commercial machines.

The small print

  • The £90 call-out is a flat fee. It covers the visit, the diagnosis and the labour, and it does not change with how long the repair takes.
  • Parts are charged on top and always quoted for your approval before we fit them. Nothing goes in until you have said yes.
  • If we cannot repair the appliance, the £90 is the only charge and there is nothing further to settle.
  • If a part has to be ordered, there is no second call-out charge for the return visit to fit it.
  • All prices include VAT where it applies, and the figure we quote you is the figure you pay. We do not charge hourly rates.
  • There is no mileage surcharge anywhere in our coverage area, from Cambridge and Huntingdon down to south Hertfordshire.
  • Every repair is covered by our 6-month guarantee on parts and labour.
  • We work on domestic appliances only; commercial machines fall outside our service and are never quoted for.

Questions
How much is your call-out fee?

It is £90, and that one figure covers the visit, a full diagnosis and the labour on the repair. Parts are charged on top and always quoted for your approval before we fit them. There is no hourly rate and no separate diagnosis fee, so a job that turns out to be fiddly costs you the same as one that doesn't. If you decide not to go ahead, the £90 is all you pay.

Is there a separate charge for diagnosing the fault?

No. The £90 call-out covers the visit, the diagnosis and the labour as one charge, so there is nothing extra added for working out what is wrong. The only thing on top is the part, and you see that price before we fit it. We are explicit about it because too many local firms quote a low call-out and then add labour on top once they are through the door.

Do you charge by the hour?

No, we do not charge hourly rates for repairs. Labour is included in the £90 call-out, so a fiddly repair that takes twice as long does not cost you twice as much. That protects you from the classic problem of watching the clock while an engineer struggles with a stubborn bearing housing. The only variable is the part, which is quoted for your approval before fitting.

What if you cannot fix my appliance?

If we cannot repair it, you pay the £90 call-out and nothing more. We will tell you plainly why it is not economical or not possible, whether that is a discontinued part, a cracked outer drum or a control board that costs more than the machine is worth. You will also get an honest steer on whether a replacement or a second opinion is the better use of your money.

Do you provide a quote before starting work?

Yes, you always get a firm price before any repair work begins. Once the engineer has diagnosed the fault, they will give you the total — the £90 call-out plus the part, VAT included where it applies — and you decide there and then whether to proceed. Nothing is ordered, fitted or charged without your say-so.

How can I pay?

We accept card payments in the van, bank transfer and cash. Payment is taken on completion of the repair, not up front, and you will receive a written invoice by email for your records. Landlords, letting agents and account customers can be invoiced on agreed terms rather than paying at the door.

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

Any price we quote you is the price you pay, with VAT already included where it applies. We will never add a percentage at the end that was not mentioned when you agreed the work. If you need a VAT breakdown for business or landlord accounting, ask and we will itemise it on the invoice.

No surprises. Book with a price in mind.
