Baumatic appliance repair
Worth repairing when parts are available, because integrated appliances cost far more to replace than the repair once you include fitting. For older models the question is simply whether the part still exists.

documented
Baumatic built its business supplying built-in appliances to kitchen studios and developers, and since 2015 it has been part of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances alongside Stoves and Belling. The range is almost entirely integrated — ovens, hobs, hoods, dishwashers and fridges designed to disappear behind a kitchen door. Products have been sourced from a range of manufacturers over the years, so build quality is not uniform across the catalogue.
The faults are the standard built-in list: elements, fan motors and thermostats on ovens, drainage and door problems on dishwashers, thermostat and fan faults on integrated refrigeration, and grease-clogged motors on extractor hoods. The consideration specific to Baumatic is parts. The move into Glen Dimplex improved support for current products, but spares for pre-2015 models can be hard to find, and cosmetic parts especially so. Where the part exists, repair is nearly always the right answer, because integrated appliances are expensive to replace once the fitting is priced in and aperture sizes do not always match between brands.
Parts and availability
Current Baumatic parts are supported through Glen Dimplex at moderate prices with one to five working days' lead time. Spares for older, pre-acquisition models are patchy and sometimes obsolete, and we confirm availability before booking any repair.

What goes wrong with Baumatic appliances
Oven fan element and thermostat failures
The oven stops heating, heats slowly or cooks unevenly. A failed fan element is the most common single cause, with thermostat drift second. Both are contained repairs once the oven is drawn from the housing, though integrated fitting adds labour.
Dishwasher drain and sump blockages
Standing water in the base, a cycle that stops part way, or a persistent drain error. Filters and the sump clog with food debris and grease, and a pump that has been running against the blockage often fails shortly afterwards.
Extractor hood motor and grease clogging
Hood motors slow, whine and eventually seize when grease builds up in the impeller and housing, particularly where the metal filters are not degreased regularly. Cleaning the filters properly extends motor life considerably.
Integrated fridge and freezer temperature faults
Units running too warm or freezing food, usually from a failed thermostat or sensor, or from ice blocking the airflow on frost-free models. Parts are inexpensive but the appliance has to come out of the housing, which is where the time goes.
Parts availability on pre-2015 models
Baumatic changed hands and changed suppliers, and spares for older products can be discontinued. Availability, not repair cost, is usually what decides whether an older Baumatic appliance can be saved, so we check first.
