Falcon appliance repair

A brand we specialise in

Yes, strongly. These are long-life cookers assembled from individually replaceable components, and a replacement costs several thousand pounds plus installation. Electrical and oven repairs are almost always economic; gas-side work must be booked with a Gas Safe engineer.

Falcon is the professional-styled sister brand to Rangemaster, built in the same Leamington Spa factory and sharing a great deal of its engineering. The cookers are heavier, with commercial-look stainless steel, sturdier pan supports and more substantial doors, and they are aimed at people who cook seriously. From a service perspective that shared parentage is a real advantage: many parts are common with Rangemaster, so availability is excellent and prices are sensible for the class of appliance.

The faults are the classic range cooker set. Elements fail, fan motors wear out and get noisy, door hinges sag under the weight of multi-glazed doors, seals harden, and thermostats drift. On dual-fuel models the gas hob brings ignition and flame supervision faults, which are Gas Safe work only. Nothing about a Falcon is throwaway — every major component is individually replaceable and the cabinet is built to last decades. Given that a replacement is a serious four-figure purchase before installation, repairing a sound Falcon is nearly always the right decision.

Parts and availability

Falcon shares much of its spares catalogue with Rangemaster, so availability is excellent and support extends well over fifteen years. Elements, fans, thermostats and hinges typically run £35–£140 with next-day or two-day delivery.

Known issues

What goes wrong with Falcon appliances

Oven element failure in one of the cavities

With multiple ovens, one failing element is the most common Falcon repair. Typically one cavity stops heating or browns unevenly while the rest of the cooker is fine. Elements are individually wired and replaceable, so the job is contained.

Fan motor noise and eventual stall

Fan bearings dry out and the motor becomes noticeably louder over weeks before failing. Once it stalls the oven heats unevenly and can cut out on thermal protection. Replacing at the noisy stage prevents damage to the rear panel wiring.

Door hinge sag on heavy multi-glazed doors

The doors are heavy, and worn hinges let them sit proud of the seal. Heat escapes at the top, the fascia runs hot and preheating slows. Hinges are replaced as a pair and the door seal is usually renewed at the same time.

Gas hob ignition and flame failure faults

Persistent sparking, burners that will not light, or flame supervision devices cutting the gas when the knob is released. This is Gas Safe work and must never be attempted by the owner; we arrange it with a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Thermostat drift on the main oven

The thermostat reads progressively low or high as it ages, so the oven no longer matches its dial. It is easily confirmed with a probe thermometer and the thermostat is a standard replaceable part.
