Haier appliance repair
Generally worth repairing under about six years old, where the direct-drive motor and cabinet still have plenty of life and the failed component is a standard part. Older appliances needing model-specific electronics are a closer call, and we price the part before starting.

documented
Haier is the largest domestic appliance maker in the world by volume and owns Candy, Hoover and Fisher & Paykel. Its own-badge products in the UK are positioned above Candy and Hoover, with direct-drive motors, inverter compressors and a good deal of technology for the money. Recent laundry and refrigeration are decent — better than the brand's budget reputation suggests — and the seven and ten year motor warranties are meaningful.
The pattern of faults is unremarkable: drainage problems, door locks, defrost failures on frost-free refrigeration and the occasional control module. The reservations are about support rather than engineering. The UK spares network has improved but is still not as deep as BSH or Beko, and connected models with app control add electronics that are model-specific and slower to obtain. Where parts are available and the machine is under about six years old, repair makes clear sense. On older units, particularly large American-style fridges, we would want to price the parts before anyone commits to the work.
Parts and availability
Haier parts are available through the UK network at moderate prices, with common pumps, interlocks and valves usually within two to five working days. Model-specific electronics and smart modules are slower, often a week or more.

What goes wrong with Haier appliances
Drain pump and filter blockages on washing machines
Water left in the drum and a stalled cycle, almost always from a blocked filter or a jammed pump impeller. Clearing it promptly generally saves the pump. It is the most common single call we take on any Haier laundry appliance.
Door interlock faults
The machine reports the door open or will not release at the end of the cycle. Interlocks are a standard wear item; the associated door hook should be checked at the same time because a worn hook wears the new interlock quickly.
Defrost failures on frost-free fridge freezers
A failed defrost heater or sensor lets ice build behind the rear panel and block the airflow, so the fridge warms while the freezer stays cold. It is a repairable fault and not, as many owners assume, a sign the compressor has failed.
Control module and connectivity faults on smart models
App-enabled Haier appliances carry additional communication modules, and failures show as unresponsive controls, a machine that will not start, or programmes changing on their own. These boards are model-specific and can take a week or more to obtain.
Direct-drive motor bearing and sensor issues on high-spin laundry
The motors themselves are reliable, but the rotor position sensor and the drum bearings on 1400rpm-plus models can give trouble after several years of heavy use. Bearing repair depends entirely on whether the model has a split or sealed tub.
