Lamona appliance repair
Usually worth repairing because almost all Lamona appliances are integrated, and replacement means paying for the appliance plus the fitting into an existing housing. The limiting factor is parts availability on older models rather than the cost of the repair itself.

documented
Lamona is Howdens' own appliance brand, fitted in an enormous number of kitchens across Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire because it comes as part of the kitchen package. Howdens does not manufacture them — they are built by established European makers, with different products coming from different factories — so a Lamona dishwasher and a Lamona oven may have almost nothing in common internally.
Quality is adequate for the price point, which is what they are designed for. The faults are conventional: drainage and door problems on dishwashers, element and fan failures on ovens, pump and interlock failures on laundry. Two practical things matter for owners. First, spares are supplied through Howdens rather than a manufacturer network, and they are model-specific, so it is essential to have the exact model number from the rating plate. Second, most Lamona appliances are integrated, which means longer labour to remove and refit. Because of that fitting cost, repairing an integrated Lamona is usually cheaper than replacing it, provided the part is still available.
Parts and availability
Spares come through Howdens and their appointed suppliers rather than a manufacturer network. Availability is reasonable for current models at low to moderate prices, typically with two to five working days' lead time; older discontinued models can be difficult.

What goes wrong with Lamona appliances
Dishwasher not draining or leaving water in the base
Blocked filters, a clogged sump or a jammed drain pump leave standing water and eventually stop the programme. It is the most common Lamona dishwasher call. Cleaning the filter weekly prevents most of them; where the pump has been labouring it usually needs replacing.
Oven element and fan motor failures
No heat, slow heating or uneven cooking from a failed fan element, and noisy running then failure from a worn fan motor. Both are standard components, but the exact part is model-specific so the rating plate details are needed.
Washing machine drain pump blockages
The pump filter blocks and the machine stops with water in the drum, often with the door locked. Straightforward to resolve, and one of the few Lamona faults an owner can often clear themselves by emptying the filter properly.
Door interlock failures on laundry
The machine will not start or will not release the door at the end of a cycle. The interlock is a common wear item, and as with any front loader the door should never be forced open when it is stuck.
Model-specific spares and identifying the manufacturer
Because Lamona products come from several different factories, the equivalent part varies by model and must be ordered against the exact model number. Availability is good for current products and thinner for older ones, so we check before quoting.
