The appliances are made by contract manufacturers, mostly in Turkey and China, to a specification set by the retailer, and they are priced to be the cheapest thing on the shop floor. In practical terms they are basic but functional machines with a realistic life of five to seven years.
Our approach to Logik repairs is straightforward. If the fault is a blocked pump, a failed interlock, a heating element or a thermostat, the repair costs far less than a replacement and is worth doing. If it is bearings, a motor or a main control board, it usually is not, and we would rather tell you before you pay a call-out fee. The other practical issue is parts: components are model-specific and sourced from the original factory, so availability depends on whether the line is current. Current models are generally fine; discontinued ones can be a dead end. We check first, quote second.

What goes wrong with Logik appliances
Blocked drain pump leaving water in the drum
The commonest fault on any budget washing machine. The filter clogs with lint and coins and the machine stops mid-cycle with the door locked. Clearing the filter regularly prevents most of these, and prompt attention normally saves the pump.
Door interlock failures
The machine refuses to start or refuses to release the door. Interlocks on entry-level machines are a genuine wear item and fail earlier than on premium brands. The part is cheap when it can be matched to the model.
Heating element failure and RCD tripping
In hard water the element scales and eventually fails or leaks to earth, tripping the consumer unit as soon as the wash tries to heat. The element is inexpensive, but on an older machine it is worth considering the overall condition before spending.
Fridge and freezer thermostat faults
Units running too warm or freezing everything solid, usually from a failed thermostat or sensor. Parts are cheap and the repair is quick, which makes it one of the more worthwhile Logik jobs.
Parts becoming unavailable on discontinued models
As a retailer badge rather than a manufacturer, Logik spares are tied to specific production runs. When a model is dropped, parts availability falls away quickly, and this is usually what ends an appliance's life rather than the cost of the repair.
