What goes wrong with Panasonic appliances
Inverter board failure on microwaves
Panasonic's inverter microwaves replace the traditional transformer with an electronic board, and when it fails the oven runs but does not heat. It is the classic symptom people mistake for a dead magnetron. The board is replaceable but it is not a job for an owner — the high-voltage circuit can hold a dangerous charge.
Microwave door interlock switch failures
One of the door switches fails and the oven either stops working entirely or blows the fuse. It is inexpensive, common and safety-critical, and must be diagnosed and replaced by an engineer rather than investigated at home.
Drain pump and filter faults on washing machines
Water left in the drum and an aborted cycle, usually from a clogged filter or jammed pump. Standard fault, standard fix, and one of the few things an owner can safely address by cleaning the filter.
Defrost system faults on refrigeration
Failed defrost heaters or sensors let ice build behind the rear panel, restricting airflow so the fridge warms while the freezer stays cold. Repairable and considerably cheaper than owners expect.
